Hi, I’m Janna (she/her/hers)
I grew up here in Austin. After high school I ventured to Memphis, Tennessee where I attended a tiny liberal arts school called Rhodes College and graduated with honors in psychology. After college I taught elementary and middle school for several years before returning to Austin to receive my Ph.D. in Counseling Psychology from The University of Texas at Austin.
As part of my doctoral training, I worked in a variety of clinical settings including a career counseling center, an adolescent inpatient facility, university counseling centers, and a veterans affairs primary care behavioral health clinic. I completed my doctoral internship at The University of Texas Counseling and Mental Health Center.
Following this, I worked as an anxiety specialist at a group practice for seven years, allowing me to hone my skills treating the full range of anxiety disorders. I’ve now been working with clients in various capacities for over 10 years. I love continuing to learn and grow as a psychologist. I prioritize seeking training and consultation that allow me to stay on the cutting edge of clinical work.
Outside of work I enjoy spending time with my partner and two young kids, meeting friends for walks, listening to live music, trying new restaurants and hiking the greenbelt.
